how do i restore saved files from my ipod back to my limewire library?

Hi all, i need some advice. I have just had to re-install windows on my laptop and i saved my limewire library (through ITunes) onto my Ipod. How do i get them back? i have tried through itunes, but as i had to install a new version of itunes it wont recognise my original library and wants to erase and resync my ipod.
