Yes wireless routers have these things to note:
(1) NAT safeguard protection. This behaves like a firewall. It blocks out ports that are not set to be allowed. Nowadays most routers have UPnP built in which allows a UPnP capable program to send a request to the router to open a port for that session. However, not all implementations of UPnP are well designed. The answer in that case would be port forwarding. We'd need to know your router brand And model to help if you wished assistance setting this up.
(2) Wireless routers' bandwidth tends to rise & fall being inconsistent. Wireless routers are more subceptible to interference. They tend to be able to handle less traffic inquiries also, which can sometimes result in them losing connection altogether with some models.
