I'm also having trouble with the Friends thing. My contacts appear but the friend I'm trying to share with doesn't show as sharing even though neither of us are firewalled & all friends are showing in the list of friends & all lists are shared with friends.

Have you tried clicking on Friends (top of the page) once you've signed in with your gmail info > Add Friend? Add their details then.

Once you've added the friend's details, try sharing. If that doesn't work then try restarting LW & see if it goes then.
