Where can I get the software for free??

The following two media players are some of the best available on the Internet at the moment:

The VLC media player will play most videos without having to install additional codecs.

The GOM media player is just as good as VLC but with the added ability to skip any corrupt segments within a video file. However, if the entire file is corrupt then that is that, it just will not play.

The GOM player appears to live up to its claim. Seems to have quite a few more features than VLC, and I haven't seen anything that VLC can do that GOM cannot.

I hope I'm not writing too soon - haven't checked it out completely.

PS. The GOM Player is now my main/default media player

Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) said that his coldest winter was the summer he spent in San Fransisco!
Perhaps that is why we feel a kinship with the Aussies.
