Does Limewire save searches and downloads in a file?

Kind of like history for an internet browser, does LW have a file somewhere that saves what was searched and/or downloaded, even if it's been deleted?

Go to your Library file. You should have everything there.

I don't have one! Where should it be located?

The searches yes, probably, although I don't know exactly where. If your Limewire tried to auto-complete when you type into search then they are most definitely somewhere.

The downloads used to be in downloads.dat and downloads.bak files (or folders.. can't remember) located in your Limewire preference folder. Whether they are still in that exact location now, I have no idea.

Bargoyle... I just realized you were referring to the Library within the program. THey won't be listed there because they have been deleted.

Sleepless... The fields do not auto-complete. I was hoping there was a file that would save a list of what's been searched. I've been through some of the file but don't really know what I'm doing in there. Lol.

I opened the downloads.dat file in Notepad but it only lists an Incomplete file that I personally downloaded. That is not what I'm looking for. I'm actually looking for files that have been fully downloaded. I know they were on the computer. I also know they were deleted. I need proof they were actually downloaded and not just a virus that downloaded itself *rolls eyes*.

Ahh so this is a "catch my boyfriend downloading porn" kinda thing?

I'll make it easy for you. Every guy and almost all women watch porn. If they say they don't then they are lying.

You should rather be worried if he actually doesn't/didn't, because then there is something seriously wrong with him. Watch some with him, it creates trust and might also give you ideas to spice up your love life. You know you secretly want to.

Damn I'm in the wrong business. I should be a therapist/psychologist or something along those lines.

No. There is option under Tools -> Options -> Search, to remember recent searches, however this only applies to the present session & auto-complete or drop down option for previous search will show. However once LW is closed & the session expires, the searches are not stored anywhere within LW's document files.

The Downloads.dat file stores names & locations of incomplete files.

The Library.dat file stores names & locations of shared files.

If the Library window and shared window are blank then no files are being shared. Library normally shows files that have been downloaded.

Assumptions

No. This is not a simple catch my bf watching porn thing. I watch porn. I don't care about porn. I do, however, care about certain types of porn that are illegal. Those are the searches I'd like to view so that I can rest assured I will win my court case and my children will remain safe. Thanks so much for assuming and being a complete a$$.

So there is nothing I can find in LW then. That sucks but thanks for informing me.

I don't believe Sleepless was trying to be a jerk, a lot of people come on here trying to catch their significant other "in the act", so it's safe to say they were just trying to help you.
If this is a CP problem, then you should have asked this question in the "Porn and Laws" section.
However I'm curious, though, just exactly what your situation is. Are you trying to have proof that you did not search for this material, but that it somehow got on your computer? Because if that's the case, good luck. Our justice system seems to go as "guilty until proven innocent", or in other words, if the pictures are there, it's impossible that a virus put them there...even though, although rare, this has been proven to not be true.
However, if they found your computer to be sharing this material via Limewire, then it would not have been from a virus, but possibly an accidental download.
Again though, I kinda need your story to help you out. lol
