Try launching LW using this: Code: XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 limewire | Ahah! I think you've nailed it. The XLIB_SKIP... variable didn't help, but I noted that 'compiz' and 'compiz.bin' processes were running. I killed both of them, following which entering 'limewire' at the command prompt started LimeWire Pro working correctly.
(All the window decorations disappeared when I killed Compiz, but they hadn't been working correctly either, even before installing LimeWire.)
The installed Java version is 1.5.0_11. Would the Compiz problem be resolved by updating Java to a later version?
Thanks for your help. |
