LimeWire doesnt run....never happened before

ok guys, so heres the deal, i have been using limewire for quite a long time now, and not once have i ever had this problem. I just wiped out my whole hard drive and reinstalled windows, so it is all nice and fast and here is what happens. I install limewire, it all goes smoothky, installs all the short cuts and everything, but when i click on any of the limwire icon to open it, i get the timmer glass for a split second, it like blinks, almost like its loading limewire, but nothing happens, after i do this i have went into task manager and it doesnt show lime wire there so its not running at all. I am using windows xp home edition, can you please help me, the only thing i think it is, is some kind of security thing on my pc blocking it from opening. O and i have verizon dsl high speed internet, and i know it is working b/c everything else works with the internet..

same thing happened to me today, I reinstalled and still nothing.

My task manager shows limewire in the processes, but not in applications

I have the same problem here. Limewire.exe is in the Task Manager but the application is not running.

Strangely, I can launch the application in Safe Mode. I tried reinstalling Java but it didnt change anything.

This problem just occurred today when I tried installing the PRO version.

If someone knows a solution, please help

I fixed mine, by deleting my C:\Documents and Settins\(Your Account Name)\.Limewire directory, mine messed up somehow.... hope that helps

Uninstall. Go to Start menu>Programs>LW>Uninstaller

Download LW & save it to your computer (don't install over the net.)

Before you install it delete your LW prefs & re-insall your Java; see: Fixes for Limewire Then install LW.

Then Re-Boot your computer. Now open LW.

well i just tried that and it still does the same thing....

Go to the main LW program folder & find the actual LW program (NOT a shortcut) & open LW there. If it works then you can recreate the shorcuts.
