![]() Well Jas You will find that you are still infected and that Norton AV on it's own cannot quite kill off this problem on it's own because, I believe, anytime you go online you will be re-infected again. This is caused by a hidden program on your PC which monitors the (health of the) virus so that if it gets killed off it sends for another virus to replace it. You will have to check your HD for new folders and delete them but do this offline, also I believe that there may be a hidden folder called C:\Update, or something similar, find and delete this folder. I would also suggest that you check your AV scanner, make sure it is working properly, and update your virus definitions. You may not know this but some viruses can attack Norton AV and either disable it or make themselves invisible to the AV's scanner. So, to summerise: Delete virus created files and folders, especially the hidden ones. Check, update and run your AV again. Finally, never, ever go on the P2P network without your AV enabled. Right now you have some hard work to do in order to make your PC virus free. Good Luck. UK Bob PS. You might want to invest in a firewall, this will stop stuff coming and going from your PC without your permission. Last edited by ukbobboy01; October 3rd, 2005 at 09:51 AM. |
