Recently, after months of using Limewire with no problems, I have found Limewire refuses to start. I click on the Limewire symbol on the dock, or click on it in the Applications folder, and it does absolutely nothing. Like another thread I saw, the symbol bounces a few times when clicked on in the dock, but nothing happens even after several minutes. I have viewed a few other threads with similar problems, and the methods described their do not work for me.
I have a Mac G5, version 10.3.9, if that is of any help. Thank you to anyone who can be of assistance. |

I have downloaded the new Java from the following site:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...acosx1039.html It did not appear to work unfortunately, and appears to make no difference

Try the other options listed in the link Only A Hobo left. Trying the 1st one & stopping there if it doesn't work will not get you anywhere. There's a large list of things to try. Also, re: Java, there's more than one Java you can reinstall to see if that fixes things because the overall java installation is made up of many parts & installations. You'd need to check other threads in this & the other OSX forum section to find such suggestions & links. Here's one suggestion to fix the Java http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...faq.shtml#pla4

Simple, drag & drop the the LW program folder to the trash. You may also need to drag the installimewire.pkg file from the receipts folder to the trash before reinstalling; Receipts folder sample image

I admire the awesome information you offer in your articles. I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often. I am quite sure they will learn lots of new stuff here than anybody else!
