i just got the new lime wire and it says that there is a chat. but it doesnt come up
what should i do?

Do you have the pro or free version. I believe the pro version is supposed to have better Chat support. In LW's menu go Tools-Options & Chat (click Enable Chat & press Apply & ok.) A frequent problem with chat other than peerless mentioned is that many people leave LW on overnight/whilst they're away at work or just hidden in the background whilst they're working on other apps, etc. It can be great when you do get a response for a chat however.

i have the free version. when i go to tools it doesnt have options it only says"statistics"

(1) Select Options (2) Scroll down to Chat & tick box for enable (3) Chat found in monitor window.

Gotya try this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...6859#post76859 lol you're not the 1st! Same principle anyway. Not sure whether you should try to drag down the Tool's drop down menu or the main LW interface. Try both. For the main interface drag the bottom/side/corner edge & drag. There's also mini arrows that allow you to resize the partitions of the LW window.

Ah-har! So you're using OSX! Arso, what you need to do is go to LW's Prefs & choose Chat. Follow the image guidlelines (don't forget to press Apply button!)
It took SBerlin one of LW's designers to straighten me out that this was OSX you were talking about & not Windows. Doh.
