LimeWire 4.8.1 - REQUIRED Update?
On the main Limewire.com page it says:
"Security Update!! All LimeWire users of versions prior to 4.8 MUST upgrade." Why must users upgrade? Is there some risk to the network for not doing so? What is the specific security feature that is such a 'must' this time. Is there something in the software from 4.8 that benefits Limewire 'the company' such as stats, or control of some type? the only reason companies that make updates for software have a reason, the reason are verious and broad but all have the same ending: A better built version then last. If you opt for an older version there are verious ricks around & after a sertain point support is dropped for that version. Therefore its always best to use a more Up-To-Dated Version

LimeWire as a business
I wonder if we could run a company like LimeWire without using any money at all?
Sure, they would say they need to eat and stuff, but what if there really was a way to do it? I say yes, anything is possible. As a matter of fact this is the exact problem I have been working on for some time. It seems like a company bent on Free Information Sharing will eventually have to figure out a different way than restricting access to a PRO version.
