Default I cannot get beyond this title field. Help!

AH! Finally This has taken me three days to write. I finally found a small slanted capital letter A icon way to the right almost off this box entirely, and clicked it, after clicking almost everything else on the page, and it let me enter text. Why don't any of the "helpful" tips and instructions for creating a first post say anything about this? Also, I wrote to admins three days ago (using only the title field since that was all I could enter text in) asking for help, and never got a response. Yes, I'm whining because what I wanted to ask in the first place is whether it is normal to be taken to the top of every page and have to re-read the forum rules and then scroll down searching for my place amidst so much clutter and confusion each time a page refreshes. I find myself lost and confused.
I left the subject title as is, even though I obviously did manage to find out how. I did so to make a point. However, if I am the only person who ever had this problem then I guess I am making a jerk of myself and I apologize.

There are 2 active admins here - myself & Lord of the Rings. I haven't recieved any communication from you... if you had sent me a PM then I would have responded
LOTR is on holidays at the moment.

The thread How to create a New Thread; Your First post .. how to start it probably doesn't mention the "small slanted capital letter A icon" (I guess you mean Switch Editor Mode) because most people can just type into the text field without a problem. I've never heard of anybody else having the problem that you've had & have never even clicked on Switch Editor Mode.

In your User CP > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options, do you have Enhanced Interface selected?

The forum rules might seem like a PITA to read (or scroll through) but they're there for a reason... so many people who post here either break forum rules by posting copyrighted file names, personal info etc or don't give any info at all about their system & so it's impossible to help. And so the rules are 'in your face' initially in the hope that people will actually read them & follow them before posting
Once you're logged in, you won't see the big page any more... the rules just appear as an announcement at the top of forum sections.

yes, reading the forum rules should be really made necessary. I have encountered some sites that require those who register to scroll down completely the terms and policies of forum use. free online pokies
