Default Xolox "Not responding"

Hi

Xolox was one of the first programs that I installed to my new hard drive. After a week of use, I have just run a de-frag (in Win 98 SE) and now when I try to run Xolox the splash graphic appears at first but then turns white and the program never starts.

Pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL shows confirms that it is "Not responding".

Can anyone advise how I may best restore functionality and why I may have lost it ?

Thanks.....

Question Re-installing

Further to my earlier query, I have just read the FAQ and it looks as though I should be able to rectify my problem by removing the Registration Key and then reinstalling the program.

Before I do this should I move all of my shared files to another location or will the Xolox downloads folder be preserved making this unnecessary ?

I do not belive that the Xolox install will mess around with your shared files. (external files you are sharing)

Default Reliability of Xolox

I uninstalled and reinstalled Xolox last night. It's the first version of the program that I have ever used and was placed in a brand new Win 98 SE environment.

It worked properly again yesterday - but this morning would not get beyond the splash screen.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling three times but with no improvement.

Is this (1.2.2) the most reliable build of the program ?

Should I be removing the H-KEY even though this is the only version of Xolox I've ever run ?

I realise now that there wasn't a bug and that there was never anything amiss with Xolox.

The reason that the program wasn't starting was because my files for sharing are stored on an external drive that has to be physically plugged in and then checked by Xolox before the application can run.
