I've noticed that I'm only getting about 5 Kbps per host on most of my downloads. Could this be because the default setting for upload speed limit is 3 Kbps? If you're reading this, help the Gnutella network out by going to Tools, Preferences, Network tab, and set the upload speed limit to MAX!!! please. XoloX was intended for broadband (it says so - on the web site*) and I think most of us can spare the upstream bandwidth.
And leave it on, if you can. I'm only moderately concerned about security on the inside of my Linksys router because I can't run ZoneAlarm and any Gnutella client. Kudos to XoloX for simultaneous, multi-host downloading and the file scoring system. How about MP3 bitrates? I read on a Bearshare forum that some people think XoloX has something to do with alot of Gnutella hostcache servers refusing connections. Say it aint so! *Important: XoloX was developed with the high-speed internet user in mind. XoloX is not an optimal solution for modem-users. |

Yes, this setting should be changed to 'max' as default.
Strange, that a program that is designed for highSpeed users has a 3KB limit on upload as default!? Stig |
