I to am an XP user and I may have found the solution for the "socket error" that shuts down XoloX with WinXP.
This is what I did and I have had no problems with this error returning so far.

1. Right click on the XoloX icon on your desktop screen.
2. Click on properties in the menu that pops up
3. Click the compatibility tab
4. Set XoloX to run with Win 98/ME compatiblity
5. Enjoy Filesharing without the error

I hope this helps someone. Also for those who have delt with me in the past let me say I AM BACK!

Ironman, I just installed xolox 1.5 & when I try to do a search, windows 98 gives me a close error. Tried your suggestion for compatibility tab but my version doesn't show a compatibility feature. Any suggestions?
