Hi sleepybear91,

I don't use .mov files & never used Movie Maker but have a look at the link below & see whether any of the freeware there would suit your needs.

If nothing is useful, maybe send a PM to Lord of the Rings - he would be the best person to ask when it comes to video

I bought PowerDirector 12 a few months ago and I am still looking for a better program. For what it actually outputs is worse than some of the free programs out there. I am still looking for a simple program that will do audio files and just turn them into a .mov file. with or without a picture.

There is MPEG Streamcllp which can export with or without video into QuickTime .mov files. A quick test of converting a video file without video suggests the default is to convert to PCM at whatever frequency (Hz) the original was (example was 16-Bit 48 KHz.) However if you are wanting to construct a video such as a slideshow, this program will not do it. It also does not support mp3 input but should support aac mp4 audio as that's one of its export options (as well as WAV/AIFF.) This was tested on both MacOS and Win 7. If you do test this, make sure the files play OK.
MPEG Streamcllp requires QuickTime 7 to be installed. I was unable to get the Win version of QT via Win 7 but was able to get it via MacOSX. So I have a copy of the Win QT7 installer if you are unable to get it.

I'd been thinking. (Only if you have QuickTime Pro.) This is uncompressed audio which will take up considerable space. Alternatively with QuickTime Pro you have other options including importing mp3. There is also the option of saving the audio as Apple Lossless (ALE) but that would mean that some players might not have ALE playback support. ALE is almost equivalent to FLAC (Compressed Lossless audio reducing the file-size to around 65% compared to PCM.) My own tests years back suggested overall FLAC is slightly superior in compression but on odd occasions depending on the sound content ALE was able to compress a little better than FLAC. ALE has far superior ID3 tag support than FLAC though that's somewhat irrelevant unless you wish to add lyrics, descriptions and album art.

With QT Pro you can use a similar process to convert to either PCM/ALE as MPEG Streamcllp.

I forgot to note, it would be possible to create a slide-show using QT pro. A little tricky from memory but possible.

I will look into getting a version of Quicktime Pro for Win7.
