![]() That's werid, because the only way I can set up the IP and port is having to go through "Port Forwarding". This is what I have to enter when entering Port Forwarding Local IP Adr/ Start Port/ End Port/ Protocol Enabled I do not see any virtual sever so this may be my only opition. But maybe I am suppose to use this one Port Triggering but you do not enter IP Adress, maybe it is already applyed. Let me show you what it look like. Trigger Range /Target Range Protocol Enable Start Port /End Port /Start Port/ End Port So I think I am supposed to use Port Forwarding, maybe not? |

![]() Really good that this thread is helping people... If it wasn't, there would be many, many posts from VERY unhappy people blasting smitty_the_smith, fabion, LotR (who deserves at least a daily blasting, anyway), et et voilą... (Who we all know requires at a minimum an hourly blasting !) ![]() luego ![]() |

![]() What if your ISP block port 6346. What port number is recomended as alternative. I am using port 80 as recom by LOTR. It works but wont this influence something else ? Ursula (forum member) recom using port numbers from 49152 to 65535 (Dynamic Ports). Bottomline should I or not force IP with 6346?? |

![]() Try 6346 & if it doesn't work then try other port no.'s. Use port 80 as a last resort only. Some people have had success using different ports such as 3500 or 20282 for example. (With the tests below you must have LW running at the same time!!!) You can try testing the port no.'s with these tests: http://www.grc.com/ http://home.no.net/tgrumpy/ct/dex.php http://koti.mbnet.fi/gfactory/ctest/ http://jlh.no-ip.org/connectiontest/ Last edited by Lord of the Rings; August 2nd, 2005 at 10:44 AM. |

I've just been getting confused about the two settings on the image you posted. Are the 'Listen on Port' and 'Manual Port Forward' always going to be the same? Why would they ever be different? Also, Limewire up to this point has been working fine with uPnP, but I just discovered I never enabled it in the firmware of my Linksys BEFSX41 router! How can that be? Finally, should I go ahead and enable uPnP in the router's firmware, and check it in Limewire, (and if so should I leave the 'Listen on Port' at my 5xxxx choice and keep it forwarded in the router's firmware?) And finally (I mean it this time), does Limewire need both TCP and UDP or just one (which one)? Thanks so much for your time and I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here... ![]() |
