You need to press BOTH the Apply & OK buttons for immediate effect! eg: filter>keywords & type in .exe in the add area & hit the Add button, Apply & OK & it should take immediate effect filtering out words with the extension of .exe

As for the 2nd part, in your dwnld pane, click onto the top of any of the columns & the files will be organised as such. eg: to have those that are presently dwnlding listed at the top of the list: click the Status column twice (you'll see a small arrow pointing up.) So you can organise them however you like!

I go

Just to save me time I've done the sample image with the mac version LW but it's the same principle. LW's menu Tools-Options-Filters & select Keyword. Then in the top available box type in .exe (no " " included!) Add them one by one!

this is exactly what i do
lets say i want the words cat, dog out

.exe
add

cat
add

dog
add

apply
ok

each word seperate
what wrong?
thankyou

Absolutely nothing! You've done it exactly to method!!! You shouldn't have any future probs with these files. Keep in mind that you can always remove these even if only temporarily as I've done from time to time.

Please don't tell me you're still having problems!? You've done everything correctly.

By filtering out exe, jpg & wmv you'll get rid of all that spam that replicates your searches. Thus saving your search energy for better things with any luck. It certainly works for me.

for some reason its still not working.

ive tried it more then once.

could the problem be that "cat" and .exe hav been entered several times?

what wrong?

(also, how many searches can i conduct at the same time)

thanks

Might be an idea just to have them added once. Are you sure you're pressing the Apply button? You can see the Apply button can't you? Sometimes it's obscured & you need to drag the window down.

If still doesn't work, perhaps your prefs are corrupted. Make a record of all your settings & then delete your prefs. Delete them by going to C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire & trashing the folder called .limewire But you'll need to re-add all your settings again if you do this.

For searching, go to LW's menu Tools-Options & Searching & Limit. You can type in the no. of simultaneous searches there. Simultaneous means as it suggests, how many you do at the same time. It doesn't matter how many previous search results you already have up. But keep in mind search results go stale after a while & also keeping many previous searches up may use up more ram.

neverending story of my problem

thanks for your help, and im pertebed to say i have another problem-- my files have dissapeared

I didnt want peple to browse my files, but i could not find that option in preferences so i moved all of my files from that folder to another.

whats weird is that when i download files they dont go into my library.

Instead it says Library
Incomplete

and then there is this big space. No files anywhere

Im thinking i pressed some view button by mistake
how can i get back to the library ?????
