Default Preview Problems

I have downloaded like 10% of a movie and I would like to preview it but it says 'Class Not Registered'. How do I fix this problem?

It sounds like a WMV file right? I hate WMV b/c they have licencing for certain files. You may need xtra codecs: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html OR http://www.free-codecs.com/ Just a personal opinion, but WMV are so crappy & it's difficult to do anything with them.

I'm downloading TMD *** 3. It's an .avi? Should I still go download those codecs?

Sorry can not mention copyright material on forum see rules: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...?s=&forumid=29

Yes. But avi is such a common format I'm surprised you can't preview it. Perhaps you don't have a default video player set. Either that OR it's b/c your video app has difficulty with some incomplete files (no end of file flag.) This is not a rare issue with video.

Just to be a bit more accurate, AVI is a little like QuickTime in that it's a shell. AVI can be encoded using various formats. DivX, Matro..., etc. So it could be a codec issue. I suppose you could always trial it out with another player such as VLC (a free player.)

I've already got AVI Preview and it worked fine there. Is there anything I can do so I can preview my movie on Media Player?

If it won't play on your normal video player, make AVI Preview you default app. That way, it will open when you launch an avi file from LW. But AVI Preview probably only plays avi files right? Probably eventually you may need to sort out your video player. I suggested VLC b/c it plays most video formats (& some audio formats apparently) & it has codecs built into the program. VLC is not the prettiest of apps nor the most stable nor has the best controllers, but it works with a wide range of formats.
