That should depend on your default movie player. For me on a mac, some files open with Quicktime player & others with VLC ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ). If you don't like your video player, choose another to work as your default player.

Are you asking about how to pause a download of a movie file (And not lose what you have already D/Led) ?

Or, how to pause a movie file while playing it so that when you switch on again it starts where you last were in the movie ?
