I would suggest completely ignoring ANYTHING related to quoted 'speeds' and simply go first for the maximum sources (if the rate and/or other factors are acceptable)...

'Speed' is often just so much bravo sierra, OK ?

As LotR alludes to... 56K dial-up sources can easily outperform the big pipe honchos BECAUSE the 56K dial-up user actually must pay a lot more attention to maintaining the best configs for the fastest file transfer completions...
