Direct x problem
i downloaded a program and installed it but it keeps saying directx 8 or higher not installed but i know it is can someone help

What Operating System you are using is critical for this question... How are you testing your DirectX installation ? (I assume that you are referring here to a game...?)

windows xp testing using directx test in diagnostics. yes its a game

Did the installer ask you if you want to install direct X? Usually you can ignore such questions when you are sure you have the latest version, not all programs are testing it. Did you try to run the game?

no it just says direct x 8 needed not found and i know i have the latest version. its a game i got off limewire and unpacked everything but still have problems
