i have just recently downloaded the limewire pro version 4.3.3 and i am having some difficulty. when i start limewire it makes my connection speed real slow. i connect with broadband and i only have a download speed of 25kbps. i feel as tho i am using a dial up. so i am looking for some tips on how to make this problem better. and it is taking forever for downloads.

Dial up has a speed of around 5 to 7 KB/s not 25. Sounds like you have a lower end broadband connection like me. lol

1. Go to Tools>Options>Speed & click the option for Disable Ultrapeer Capabilities & press the Apply button.

2. Go to Tools>Options>Uploads>Basic & reduce the Upload bandwidth down to below 70%. If this doesn't do the trick then reduce it further. Press the Apply button everytime you make a change.

3. Don't use the Resume button on too many files (if any) or else it will slow down LW & maybe your computer. It may also affect LW's connection quality.

4. After you open LW, let it settle for 15 to 25 mins or so before doing anything with it.
