any mp3 i try to download now opens up netscape and prompts me to press okay to install and open player_mp3.exe but I always deny because it looks so suspicious to me. Does anyone know if this is safe or should I just stay away from it? thanks.

Stay away from it. I can't find any info about player_mp3.exe...the closest thing i could find is play_mp3.exe, which is malware.
PLAY_MP3[1]..EXE, Spyware Remove Just to be on the safe side, update your AV & scan your computer. If you don't have an AV, try one of these free ones. avast! AVG free Avira Antivir I'd also scan for spyware & adware. These are free. Spybot S & D AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido) Ad-Aware SE Personal Ad-Aware 2007 Free Make sure to keep your AV updated & scan all downloaded files before you open them.
