limewire

I, along w/others who actually know how to work a computer, can't figure out why I can't connect limewire. I keep getting "limewire is currently connecting to the network" etc. is there a firewall on my router? should I call brighthouse and say what's up? Help is greatly appreciated. Go Pittsburg!!!
