whew.. finally made it

I too am new and have had a nightmare getting LW to connect, My name is teetotler and have used LW for 4 yrs got a lot to learn about this posting thing tho is sort of sofisticated ,Anyway I followed 7 pages of suggestions that I printed off this site suddenly for no good reason I can now connect with no problem I am running Windows XP Gateway desktop with 2 gig memory and 360 gig Hd have Symantec Internet Security and a Linksys Router My connection is a DSl with AT&T. I believe the post saying to set for manual connection and turn off the hints is the thing that corrected my problem . Plus I removed and reinstalled several times following the instructions provided the last time I installed some screens came up that I do not recall in the previous tries. Good Luck to you all
