new limewire will not open ?
 

hi my name is mary,
i am running windows xp and have tried downloading limewire's new free basic program about 10 times now and the program will not open :confused: . i am so ticked ! because i don't know what the problem is :bangh:. i have cleared all old versions from my computer and checked the firewall and it still will not open. please help

This might take a little while but worth doing: Reinstall instructions for both Java & LW after cleaning the system.

is there a music program out there that is free and is as good as limewire without all the download problems ?

I have Mac 10.5.7 and have also downloaded LimeWire Pro several times. the download is always successful but I can not open LW from the lime on my desktop. I am so frustrated, was doing this as a gift for my husband but can't get it to open!!! I have all software updated on my computer and trashed the original download and tried from the beginning, MANY times today. Hope someone can help!

What kind of mac do you have? Is it an intel mac made within past 3 years? A quick way to check if your mac is compatible with LW 5 version is to check whether you have Java 1.6 (Java 6) installed; see Setting up Java for Leopard (see 2nd image)

I have 10.5.7 and have reloaded Limewire Pro and cannot get it to launch also.
