I have been using Limewire for quite a time fairly successfully overall. I am an experienced sys admin with solaris, but use ubuntu 9.04 at home. I do like the LW5 in general, and am currently using the 5.3.0 beta version - hoping to get rid of an issue where part way through a download the mb % downloaded oscillates back and forth between values 2 or 3 mb apart and doesnt seem to proceed from there. I will raise that issue at another forum !! Occasionally my external drive hiccups and goes off line (USB2 connections ??) and restarting a download is not possible it would seem (after cycling the drive and remounting it ). Anyway I dont mind the new V5 software and 5.3 looks OK with the search method etc ! Just thought of a way round the ext disk issue - i have 40 gb spare on an internal disk ! move the download area and sync to the external now and then !! I use rsync to effectively give me a mirror set up which runs each hour ! Anyway I may come to the forums a bit more often in future ! Bye for now
