Mac OSX Limewire won't quit

Installed Limewire, trying to close it but it won't quit. Help?!

Which OSX version, what kind of Mac computer, which version of LW?
In meantime you may need to force quit it. Command-Option-ESC

Check for Software Updates: ie under Apple menu top left of screen. There may be a Java update you need.

I have an iMac, OSX 10.5.8 - core 2 duo processor - LW version 5.4.8. Furthermore, I installed it about 3 weeks ago and have never been able to open it. Used to use LW all the time when I had a PC, just figured it would work with Mac too.....I'll check for updates, but I do this frequently. Any info you have is helpful.

oh .. yes unfortunately LW 5 is not compatible with OSX 10.5. You will need to instead, install LW 4. I would however recommend LW 4.16 rather than 4.18. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...link-here.html & instructions about removing the 'newer' LW Receipt file before installing (otherwise OSX will not let you install LW 4.)
