This system has me going around in circles. I have never posted before. My question is that I put a song in LimeWire to search for an it says that it already is in my music. I know that. I want to find other people that have made this song but I can't get to it because of that message. How can I get around that and look for a song that are ready have but by a new artist. I am using LimeWire 5.5.8 and Windows 7.

LW is telling you that you already have the same exact file as the one's that show up in your search, even if it has a different name. LW doesn't go by filenames, it uses the file's "hash" identifier. So even if the name says it is a different artist or song, LW will recognize it as the same file.
At the risk of downloading identical copies of music you already have, you could move the songs to a different folder before starting your search. |
