New to all of this.... any tips with Movie downloading via Limewire? I just did a search for the movie ********* for my 18 mo. old, and a title of a child porn video came up that made me sick... any way to flilter these things out?
Also, looking for some advice on converting avi files and mpg files to video quality... what programs can you use? Sleepless edit: don't mention downloading of copyright works on the forums. Read the rules!! Last edited by Sleepless; August 14th, 2010 at 12:35 PM. |

Ok, first of all you can't convert anything to better quality, than your source file is. If you have a "decent" quality .avi DVDRip, then whatever you convert to will at most be the same (read: slightly worse) quality. note: same is possible, but takes A LOT of work.
Also one thing to use is bitzi lookup. Plenty of that mentioned on the forums. Second: Limewire has a keyword filter, so if you saw it was CP just from the file name, then there was probably some word(s) that you could add to this filter. |

I found that I can preview the down load by waiting until one MB is down and then asking my VLC Media Player to play it. I go to the download folder - in my case "Incomplete". Other players won't play while the download is in progress. Sometimes I'll immediately know if I want to keep something and sometimes I'll have to wait until perhaps 5 MB is down before I have enough to get a sense of what's coming down.
Key word filter works - just add the words as they become apparent to you during your searches. |
