sberlin may I ask why use an installer for Mac OSX? I'm not sure what arguments there are for using an installer. Why not just offer a dmg file so people can mount it, drag & drop LW to wherever they choose? The present installer version installs it in the Applications folder (without a choice.) But not everybody wants it to be there; perhaps either in a sub-folder or even on another HDD or partition.

The OSX installer actually does some work.
Installing to another directory or partition is another matter -- we could make that option available in the installer. To date, we've chosen not to because it increases the complexity somewhat, and the Applications folder is standard for OSX. |
