Default Uninstall Problem

When I try to uninstall Limewire 3.8.9 I recieve an error message. As soon as I try to unistall it by using the add/remove function in the control panel, it will be just about to start uninstalling then it checks the floppy disk drive then I recieve this error message-

"Unhandled Exception

Error Number 0x80070725
Description : Incompatible version of the RPC stub

Setup will now terminate"

Does anyone have any ideas to what is causing this and how can I fix it. I am running Windows 98.

Default Uninstall Broken

Look guys - I've been reading this forum for weeks now and I have to say that I am somewhat bemused.....MOST proper forums have some contact with the administrators of the mother site ie LIMEWIRE...........

I am a systems admin so I "should" know what I am doing. The uninstall problem is a REAL and SERIOUS issue with this prog - which is a real shame cos the prog itself rocks.........however - if you guys at Limewire do NOT come up with a cleanup or PROPER uninstall util soon - you are going to have a LOT of VERY angry people out there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had this issue for months now and I can not fix it - youi can look at the ms page - you can delete the installers and reinstall msi to your hearts content - but if you have this poblem you are screwed unless you do a restore to before the first install of limewire. I have deleted ever known reg entry to limewire using JV16 and searched the whole of my harddrive for limewire entries but I still can not uninstall (or install new).......the only way the I can update now is to install the prog on a new machine and just copy the whole Limewire folder over to my busted machine..........................come on you guys at Limewire - sort this sh*t out please.............................you would have at least thought that a dozen people complaining would have aleretd most people to the fact that the problem IS REAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks I tried the link and installed the Microsoft Installer. It completely removed Limewire and everything works fine.
