downloaded lime wire installed fine, but with i click on it it says Lime wire launcher error, lime wire was unable to load please download and re install lime wire. I have tried this serveral times and it still doesnt work .. any suggestions

I am running win 98se 2.4ghz pentium 4 256ram internet connection is shaw high speed cable with nvidia gforce6400 I have macafee firewall v8.0 but have already configured it to allow lime wire and java and it still wont let me. Some one please HELP!!

Did you install using the english or international (multilingual) installer. These are different installers & the latter will force LW to use Java 1.3 which can cause issues. Later Java is better.

May I suggest you try the beta 4.3.3 which overcomes a no. of bugs that LW 4.2 has. It can be found here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml
You should uninstall using the Add/Remove programs control panel beforehand.
It might also be an idea to delete your LW preferences folder again before you install.

I installed using the English 4.3.3 and i have java 1.3 installed. Would i be better off using the International installer and having a different version of java? I was unable to find my preferences folder, i dont think i was able to get far enough along in the instalation process to create one. It hasent opened since the day i downloaded it i click on the shortcut on my desktop and the launchere error comes up. Its been like that since the first install

There's only one Windows download now. Do you still have the problem with LimeWire 4.4 (which is what the current download link gives you)?

yes, im still having trouble. I uninsall and delete all lime wire folders from my computer then reinstall and it still doesnt work... could it be a problem with configuring my internet connection

Go to your Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall & tell us how it is set.

Have you heard anything like this about Shaw ISP filtering p2p ?

This might not be your problem or might not apply to you. ISP's may only apply filtering selectively sometimes if they do do it.

couldnt find anything in my advanced tools for firewall. Im using macafee v8 with windows 98se. I dont think shaw isp would be filtering my p2p but its possible. They have shut my internet down before when i was using bit torrent with www.suprnova.org. But i did have kazaa lite before i tried to get lime wire and it was working fine.
