If LimeWire fails to install

i keep on getting this pop-up when i click on limewire that says
one or more necessary files appear to be invalid and it tells me to copy report

I'm having the same problem that "Is this name taken" is having except I have never been able to get limewire and I have had my computer for about 4 years. I asked my 18 year old nephew to help me today and he could not get it either. Please help me. I think that I need to tell you that I don't now anything about computers and would need to be guilded thru everything. Do I take firewall off and etc.... these are the things that I don't understand. Also where do I get the answers to my questions? Why is this so hard? Thank You

Sorry, I'm a bit confused...so when you try to install LW, you get the message that there's an older version of LW running (that's what happened to 'is this username taken?')?? But you've never had LW installed on your computer?

Or are you having problems with where your downloads are being saved (that was another problem that 'is this username taken?' had)?? Can you tell us exactly what's going wrong??

I did dowload LW when I first got my computer but when I tried todownload a song it said that "there was not enough source", I really didn't know what that meant so I didn't know what to do. I think that I thought that I just couldn't get it. I did delete the icon from the Add/Remove program but after reading "Wondering Why" thread I guess I should not have done that. I tried to download LW after I deleted the icon but it still says that I appear to have a older version running.

Open Task Manager (ctrl/alt/del). Click on the Processes tab & see if there's a LW process running. If there is, end the process.

Now use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. Delete what you find.

Now try to reinstall LW. Download the LW offline installer. When you click to download & a dialog box pops up, cancel it. Now use the option to download the offline installer

I just purchased Pro 4.14.12. Initially, the software loads after installation. But after I shut down limewire and re-open it. I get the regular version back(4.14.10). The only way I get pro is to keep re-installing it. Why is this??

What in the world does corrupted mean when L/W is being downloaded?
PLEAS SOMEONE TELL ME. WHAT IS IT THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?
