If LimeWire fails to install

i try to load limewire and i keep getting tis warning that "Limewire.exe is a bad windows image and the application or DLL C:\Programfiles\Java\jre6\bin\verify.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." i have the latest version of java what can be the problem and how do i resolve this issue??????

Hello there, well i'm new to this and i'm having a hard time with LW i've installed it and uninstalled it and the same thing keeps happening, i click on the icon on my desktop and nothing happens, i have windows xp, i also have high speed internet, i downloaded the 4.18.8 virsion. please help.... ty

The second link is important then in my previous post. Also check compatibility mode & admin mode just in case, sometimes they seem to solve issues, as listed in the Fixes for LW.

Another thought is you have a security program that is preventing LW from running.

I keep getting the error message "could not open input for splittet files" or something like that. Tryin to download some music for my son on CHRISTMAS! It's bad enough he didn't get the Ipod Touch that he wanted now I can't even download LIMEWIRE? Bah Humbug! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best to have the most recent Java version installed to run LW & best if no previous versions on the system. Then download the 'Offline' LW installer as mentioned.

I had alot of problems with both installers and I took the advice of someone on this board and it worked.Uninstall limewire and java,and reinstall both wth the offline installers.now LW.is fine.
