Purchased LW Pro but only received Basi
 

I puchased Lifetime Full & Unlimited Access with Pro Version Upgrade today. I installed the program followed with the Pro version upgrade install. However when I start LW I get a screen to upgrade to Pro Version at an addtional cost of plus $18 US dollars. I have version 4.8.1 installed and ver 4.9 is now available however I can only download the Basic version or pay to download the Pro Version. I'm confused (doesn't take much) as I purchased the Pro Upgrade but apparently only have the basic version. How do I get the Pro Version that I paid for?

I regret that it looks as if you bought this "package" from a site other than Limewire.com and have been victim one of the many scammers that are doing this kind of thing.

Limewire basic is available from www.limewire.com free as is, as you know, pro for $18.88

Added to which 4.8.1 is an old (well July) version.

An approach to your credit card company to try to recoup your money is a advised!

1. Can you recognise the site you got it from this link: Known Scam Sites, & also 2. at least check the hints from this link if not the latter pages of the previous link: get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

If you look at my link of known scam sites above you'll see this link listed there. No there is no such thing as lifetime & unlimited. You'll find what you got is the Basic version of LW which can be obtained for FREE from the official site. AFAIK these sites MUST allow you to get a refund if applied for less than 30 days after purchase. So do it NOW! Don't let them win! They're getting money for something they don't own or control. BTW codecs can be gotten for free from these links: CODECs list and alternate players for Movies & spyware/adaware programs that are the ONLY trusted ones with p2p programs are 1. ad-ware (FREE), & also 2. Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) Thus you paid a lot of money for what you could have got for FREE had you visited the official site 1st. If you later wanted pro then you'd only be paying US $18.88 And all but the pro version you could have got for free! :rolleyes: :(

How you try to get your money back is really up to you. One dissatisfied customer posted his story on the forums, and the best I can do is recommend you read it. I certainly would not have done the job half so well:)
