I paid for Pro earlier this year and now I have a new computer and need to download the software again but I'm told my email address is not recognized. What to do?

If you paid over 6 months ago I'm afraid that your address will not be recognized.
Is it impossible for you to get the version off your old computer? |

Yes, I took the computer to an expert and he confirmed it is dead. I thought I was paying for a year, not 6 months...

Sorry, but unless some windows user can come up with another alternative, your answer must be to get the basic version, which will be fine ... some say there is no difference

If your old HDD is still O.K. maybe you can "slave" it in the new machine, get a friend to download Seagate HDD"tools" off the Web, then with the two floppy disc you will make, copy the old, complete patition to your new machine.
You will probably have to reload all the "drivers" to suit the new "beast" but it may save a lot of time and money, + it leaves the Old HDD as a ready backup. The following "posting" by "Grandpa" is more informative. Last edited by agnew; November 11th, 2005 at 10:47 PM. |

If you thought you were paying for a year you may have been scammed and only had basic any way. LimeWire clearly states $18.88 for Pro and 6 months of free upgrades.
If you are running Windows XP on your new computer and it has a standard hard drive hookup you should be able to connect a second hard drive to the cable. Windows should recognize the hard drive when you reboot it will rename it D:/drive or whatever you should then be able to search the drive and find the LimeWire in the programs file. Then create a shortcut to your desktop and run LimeWire from the drive it is on. Or you can transfer it to your new hard drive any number of different hard drive tools. It is advisable to use hard drive tools from the manufacture of your current hard drive. Of course if your old hard drive is toast the you are SOL. |
