Removing Limewire folder

LOTRings,
Thanks for help so far,(running 4.12.6) didnt mention already tried re-installing LW, Then followed your tip to remove Limewire Folder ,which I've done,Problem is my old Partial downloads still don't go to the 'Connect' phase, straight to 'Awaiting sources' or countdown, then awaiting sources.
Is there ANYTHING else I can try?? before ditching them, which i really dont want to do! Ive tried with some to search again, no luck so far.
Any ideas? Thankyou again for help. Newbee2:bangh:

I saw your other thread here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=61691

I can think of a couple of reasons.
1. The incomplete files were ones selected from fake sources; Recognising fake files

2. Your incompletes are from a much older version & have been incomplete for a long time. The newer version might struggle to know how to connect them. Searching individually for the sources in specific searches might be the best way.

3. From the previous point about much older incompletes, perhaps the exact same files with identical hash are not being hosted by the same people anymore or those people are no longer online with gnutella.

4. The incompletes are missing their original download.dat preferences. At some point this file was thrown away.

Removing Limewire folder and resuming partial Downloads.

Thankyou LOTRings , for prompt reply and for lots of considered suggestions, at least I now know what some of the reasions might be for not being able to resume partial downloads, will ''BITE THE BULLET '' if I can't find old files on new searches, and thanks for info on fake files,i think most are pretty recognisable once in the know, probably I have saved old files over too many upgrades, had too many incorrect shutdowns. didn't realise that even tho you might have file hash if host changes LW wont recognise file, and i hadnt even considered people going offline, surely UNTHINKABLE !!
Thankyou very much for help and assistance( Even tho not good news )

As my Grandmother used to say: Kindness is the hardest thing to give away, it's always being returned''
On last point,I suppose going back to old 'Ghosts' restore points, during rebuilds would remove old files???? shouldnt tho should it, or in the confusion they just get lost!! thinking about it,if you saved file after last ghost, then went a few months before having to go back to ghost, you would lose them? Would you suggest then that making a copy of your incomplete folder every couple of months would be a good idea,or rather can you effectively do that by saving the bak. and data files in ''incomplete'' rather than making a complete ghost every month??? Is this a common idea? or dont people have to ''re-build'' as often as iv'e had too, as i'm new at this!!! Newbee2
