installing

i have tried to install limewire basic and i keep getting a box open saying " Error opening file for writing:

C:/Program Files/Limewire/unpack200.exe

Click Abort to stop the installation

Retry to try again, or

Ignore to skip this file


because of this i have tried to install limewire basic baout 5 times but still no change if i click ignore then i get this message


" Error opening file for writing:

C:/Program Files/Limewire/execNoWindow.exe

Click Abort to stop the installation

Retry to try again, or

Ignore to skip this file

if i ignore this aswell i get: a new window appear:

Finishing Installation.

Unpacking Files...

i have left this to unpack overnight and it didnt finish it just stays about 3/4 of the way completed if any one knows how to help me then any help would be much appreciated.

Try these steps:

1. Make sure you're set up properly & configured before installing. Check your firewall & modem/router to make sure UPnP is enabled; see Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

2. Install Java 1.5 (take the JRE) using the "Offline" installer. Don't install online!

3. Downld the "Offline" LW installer from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml
Then install. LW will usually uninstall any previous version/copy at the beginning of installation.

i have tried all of the steps and still no joy any other ideas ?

Well if you can't finish installation properly, then go to Start menu > Programs > LimeWire > Uninstall (if it exists)

Then go back to LW & downld another version. It's refered to as "Other". It's the last one on the list & has a ? next to it & called: ? Other (OS/2, Solaris, Linux) After downlding it, just unzip it & & open limewirestub & use.
