Default Can you PLEASE help me get this off my computer!!!

I had limewire downloaded and now that i've tried to uninstall it, I get a window that is saying... "one or more necessary files appear to be invalid. etc etc.." I read that i needed to reinstall it but it says that i have an older version running and therefore cannot complete installation. The thing is, i do NOT have an older version running and i don't even have any icons that i can click on to escape or exit it. Another thing is that I now have popup windows all the time via IE. I did not have it until i got the limewire problems. Is there a way to get rid of both? I really need help and i would love for someone to help guide me through uninstalling it asap.

HEEELLLLPPPPPPP!!!!
