Well, then since this can be excluded as cause , it still stays with the possibility that there is a graphic card issue. Unfortunately, I don't have yours on my pc and therefor can't say more than I have already said (and linked to)......:o ;) :o Uninstall COD2 and see whether that will make a difference |
Will do. The time and effort you put into helping me and my system has been invaluable. With any luck, COD's the problem.:o |
You're flattering me.......:o :D :o Keep us updated on how you got on. Your experience might be valuable for other users. ;) |
Very good. Ah! And I just discovered something else! I just went into my Control Panel, fiddeling about, opened up the Java icon and, low and behold, only the window came up. No data. Just like my LW. I just got the latest version of this Java naught but yesterday. Any new ideas? |
After you've tried uninstalling COD2 and re-started your computer, see if LW starts up without any problem. If not, uninstall LW and all JAVA versions on your pc. Re-install Java 1.5.0_07 with the offline installer, restart your pc and then install again LW. ;) |
Sounds like a plan, however, as it is currently 1:34 where I am, I believe that I shall be going to bed before I do any such thing. I'll post either tommorow or the day after to tell you how my results came out. Peace out. |
Well, I have some good news and some bad news. After following all the steps you suggested, LW apparently worked. Then, later on, it stopped. Devolving back to the state it was. Oh well. |
Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) |
