Talking I'm in dire need of HELP

Every time I attempt to open LW. I get this Message:One or more necessary files appear to be corrupted. This is generally caused by a corrupted installation. Followed by
com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader$StartupFailed Exception: invalid themes.jar
at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.sanityCheck(G UILoader.java:267)
at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.load(GUILoade r.java:40)
there's alot more, just too much to list. I've tried re-installing but no dice. Please help!

First of all, install Java using the offline installer here
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Now install LW using it's offline installer
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

See how that goes & post back if you still have problems

Default installation problems

I've tried both windows xp installers and always get the error message from HSSS saying "error writing to temporary file."
I then tried to install the cc cleaner and a similar error message appeared.
Any help would be great. I had been able to install limewire a few months ago but had a crash last week and had to reinstall my operating system

Marcus3960 & caliblue15,
Have a look through this thread, try the advice given
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...temporary+file

caliblue, make sure LW is on the list of exceptions/allowed apps in your spyware protection. Some will see LW as a threat, even though it's not

Can you disable the AOL spyware protection & see if AVG installs? A few people have had trouble with the AOL stuff. One solution was to uninstall it & then reinstall

right now im downloading the free avg.. i downloaded the non free one... finally got that one to work by deleting everything associated with grisoft.com and limewire is working so far... im going to take off aol's stuff cause it wasnt catching certain things.. and ive heard avg is tons better... so ill give that a try... i also have windows firewall... and spyware thing... i wish windows had a virus thing.. that way it was all windows and was alot easier... i also had norton before.. and that was the best thing i ever had for free.. but now i have to pay for it.. so we will see how avg does... **** dialup is slow..
