Default Can't boot up LimeWire, Java-related...

Ok... i did almost everything i saw on these boards.

I downloaded Java RE, both 1.42 and 1.5, online and offline versions.
I installed limewire multiple times both online and offline.
I did the thing with the deleting of the preferences folder.

For some reason i cant get it past the loading/bootup "screen" before the program intiates. I check the task manager and Limewire.exe isnt even found. I tried using Frostwire, and the same exact thing happened. Frostwire records startup and other errors and recorded some wierd tech jumbo but it points toward Java as the problem. I dont know how to get around this, can someone help me out?

Though you believe that it is a Java problem (did you also try some recently older versions such as 1.5.0_05 or _04? Always use the offline installers), could it be that an Antivirus/ AntiSpyware/ or any other security program you have installed blocks both application from executing??

Because, that's what it sounds for me.......just a guess though.

Uninstall Java,
reboot in Safe Mode,
scrub out all leftover traces of Java,
reboot again,
then install the newest offline version of Java again.

I recently reformatted, so i had to re-download and re-update everything.

I am pretty sure Limewire worked with my antivirus/spyware progs because they were fine when i used the before the format... in any case, yes i did check that before anyway. I turned off all of my spyware/virus blockers and even the firewall. I got nadda.

Aaron: How do you scrub out all traces of Java?

Find and delete the files. There will probably be Java folders in Program Files
and in Windows. Sometimes they are not deleted when you uninstall.
