I had recently fixed my computer and freshly opened LimeWire. I have a Cable connection to the internet running through a router. Well, the speed was Ethernet and the stars were blue. They had faster results and faster downloads. Well, I restarted everything and I don't get those in my searches any longer. How do I get those kind of search results again? Before, I could search a song and it was the first one to come up exactly correct. It was perfect. Now, I get the same mixed speeds, which I got last time except I got the one Ethernet speed one. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this message.
Brandon OK Thanks. I tried the old one and the new one and it still led me here, http://www.download.com/LimeWire/300...=dl&tag=button , either way I went. I don't know what the problem is but download.com will not show up the new 4.12.4 just the old 4.12.3. I went the Offline Installer then. Is there any difference in the regular and the offline installer? Brandon Hey, I have the new version 4.12.4, offline installer, and this was occurring in the last version too. It is just really slow. I have Windows XP SP2, 256 MB RAM and like if I scroll through the songs in LimeWire, the hesitate to move down. It still searches and downloads fine but the scrolling through the Library is just hesitant. How could I help this? Thanks. Brandon Last edited by Lord of the Rings; August 6th, 2006 at 05:55 PM. |

I found out that the newest version of LW was 4.12.4. I have 4.12.3. I went to update it and it linked me here, http://www.download.com/LimeWire/300...=dl&tag=button That says 4.12.3. I want 4.12.4 and it shouldn't even be directing me to download.com should it? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It has been redirecting to download.com for a while. It will take you to the pages that Hobo left but when you click to download the file it redirects you to download.com

I would think they're going through download.com to lighten the load on the limewire server, though I don't really know.

Hi Hobo,
Just checked the pro page and it says 4.12.4, but basic, which sends you to download.com, says 4.12.3. Your guess is as good as mine .Edit: I just d/led the basic from download.com and when I installed it it came up as version 4.12.4. So apparently d/l.com hasn't updated the d/l page.

I've noticed that you are on at some odd times also. Say like at 1 or 2 in the afternoon my time which I guess to be around 3 or 4 in the morning your time .They say the early bird catches the worm, which is great if you like worms, but I'm more of a meat and potatoes man .
