Have you changed the theme from the original in a previous version ?

If you have then you have not been succesful in deleting the preference folder
What's the theme? I don't get it.

Install the JRE from the link I left before. Themes are skins. Have you changed skins for LW? Did you delete the LW preferences folder when LW was fully closed (ie check in task manager to make sure it's not still running)? The prefs folder's not always called .limewire, that's the old location of the folder.
Newer versions have the prefs at C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\LimeWire. It's a hidden folder, so you'll have to show hidden files & folders to be able to delete it.

I did everything you said.. There is no folder in the Application Data. And the Java thing didn't work.

And Limewire might have been open when I deleted .limewire.. But it was deleted.

Something has gone wrong when you deleted the preference folder.

Try Uninstalling Limewire through Start>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall. Then make sure that the prefs. have been deleted in both locations. Maybe even do a search for Lime after you done it and delete anything to do with Limewire.

Then download the offline installer from www.limewire.com and install

BTW the limewire prefs are in a hidden folder, so you have to be able to see the hidden folders

What else can cause it? Limewire has always worked.

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) And also look at steps 5 & 6.
