Is it the installer or when you 1st open the program?
If it's the installer, then try another installer. In fact with this one there's no installation, you simply unzip it & use: see about it here Unzip it & use

Sounds like a bad Java installation. Uninstall all Java version and reboot. Then download the newest version using the JRE offline installer from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp Install it and reboot again. Then reinstall LW.  Wow, that was a photo-finish.......
