Did you use the online (recommended) or offline installer?
Try this:

Remove your current version of Java & reinstall JRE using the offline installer
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

After that, reinstall LW using it's offline installer (it will uninstall the old version automatically)
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml
