Did clean install of XPpro on new HD. Made NO changes to orig. pgms, etc. Limewire 4.12 always worked flawlessly. With re-install, I was unable to complete the Limewire startup. Clicked all the right boxes in startup and then a final window stating I needed to give access through firewall (EZ Armor), which I did. I'd move box with this message to side and saw LW attempting to load HTML code and that is where it stayed. I followed suggestions for off-line install and the removal of preferences. Even did a registry cleaning before trying to install LW. Results were always the same. Last attempt was to simple copy over the LW file from Program folder and App Data preference file from original HD. Upon startup I had to locate new ROOT file, but it now works. Any idea why I was NOT able to install the usual way?
