Angry Starting

I have installed Limewire about 10 times. It works fine, but when I shut my computer down for the night, the next day it does not auto start. Also when I click on desktop icon or on Limewire in my start menu, I get Limewire not found. I can reinstall it again & it works fine for the whole day with no problems, but when I shut my computer down, I have to do the same thing the next day. And I am wanted to buy the Pro version with having this type of problem with the basic; I don't think so!! Java is the current version & I have Limewaire 4.12.11. What is the problem?????

Might be one of your security programs is seeing LW as a virus or spyware. See if you can make an exception for LW and or disable them one by one till you find the culprit.

This thread lists some programs that work well with LW: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!.

What programs run when you start your computer? Do you have things set to automatically run, like antivirus or antispyware apps? A registry cleaner, perhaps? Just to be certain that they are not the culprit, try running a scan with them right now and see if they get any hits.

Good Luck

and... and... AND, for the millionth time plus...

The very last thing you want to do is to have ANY p2p filesharing app launch on start-up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER enable such action...

Why ?

Because in the vast majority of installations the "internet connect" is launched BEFORE your 'protection - AV - Anti-Dataminer software' is launched...
Further - frequently - your p2p app will launch before your internet connection is established... possibly... POSSIBLY causing a launch failure of your p2p client.

Bottom line, as they say, is simple... If YOU are not DRIVING, who/what is ?
NEVER auto-launch any p2p client...

YOU MUST BE IN CONTROL, right ?

If not, than - - - - TS for whatever happens !

p.s. As wisely mentioned in the other answer post, your prob could be ADAWARE - which is wonderful - IF you know how to 'drive' it... If you have ADAWARE Pro or SE, and are using ADWATCH, than ADWATCH may be blowing you away... !!!!

Adwatch must be 'understood' and frequently disabled by those who know how this stuff 'really' works !
The above comments re: ADAWARE and such are not meant as any put-down on you, OK ? Hope not !
Just passing on old crap !!!

Ain't computers fun ???

AND, LAST, BUT should have been first... WHAT happens if you start LW after a 'cold' start of your comp, WITHOUT the auto-launch enabled ??? Is it OK and 'normal' ?
